Abstract

Generalization of the Hartree-Fock method to yield effective Hamiltonians which have particle rank more than one is discussed for the case when the parent Hamiltonian contains more than two-particle interactions. A few numerical model calculations are reported to test the accuracy of the averaging procedure.
