Abstract

The reaction of CuX (X = Cl, Br) with some o- and p-quinones in pyridine gives the diamagnetic adducts [cuX(py)]2·quinone (2) (X = Cl) and (3) (X = Br). IR data suggest that 2 and 3 are olefin complexes.
