The effect of the magnetic transition dipole moment on the quantum yield of luminescence in tyrosine isomers

Abstract

The magnetic transition dipole has been determined in two sets of experiments: (a) in structurally similar tyrosine isomers; (b) in para-tyrosine as effected by pH and temperature. Results show a marked correlation between magnetic transition dipole and quantum yield of luminescence. It is supposed that the magnetic transition dipole interacts with the electron spin.
