Abstract

Thick superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu films have been prepared on alumina substrates by applying thick-film technology including a screen printing technique, a conveyer furnace and screen-printed Ag-Pt contacts. Both calcination and firing parameters were shown to have important effects on the superconducting properties. X-ray diffraction, SEM examination and EDX analysis were applied in addition to the resistivity-temperature measurements to investigate the processes taking place during preparation.
