Abstract

The resoftening process in two quenched dilute AlCr alloys was investigated. It was found that in the temperature range of 100-140 °C a softening takes place which can be interpreted by the decrease of the size of the quenched-in dislocation loops. Above 140 °C a hardening effect was observed which is explained by the zone formation of Cr in Al.
