The CNN Paradigm

Since its invention in 1988, while retaining the two basic concepts of local connectedness and analog circuit dynamics, the CNN paradigm has evolved to cover a very broad class of problems and frameworks. In this paper a tutorial summary of the various classes of CNN is presented along with a precise taxonomy. Some examples are presented to demonstrate the inherent richness of this paradigm.
