Circular dichroic spectra of glucagon confirm that in dilute aqueous solutions (1 mg/ml) about 10-15% α-helix is present which increases to about 35% α-helix at concentrations greater than 10 mg/ml. Even in the helix-inducing solvent chloroethanol a concentration dependence of helicity is observed.
