Abstract

Cobalt-hardened gold electrodeposits were prepared from all-citrate and mixed citrate-phosphate gold-plating baths doped with 57Co. Mössbauer emission spectra revealed the presence of elemental cobalt, β-CoOOH, and an unidentified species (probably a cyanide) in the gold deposit.
