Temperature dependence of the voltammetric response of polyaniline film electrodes

Abstract

The temperature dependence of the polyaniline film voltammetric response in aqueous and non-aqueous media has been investigated. The peak position of the second redox process is affected strongly by the temperature and the effect is higher with increasing solution pH. This phenomenon is explained in terms of the temperature dependence of pKa values of the film functional groups. The film stability is significantly better at lower temperatures. The electrochemical response is still fast at temperatures as low as -42° C.
