Temperature dependence of the renormalized exchange coupling constant in the Kondo effect

Abstract

The exchange coupling J is renormalized above the Kondo temperature T K by applying the Abrikosov-Green function method. The renormalized J decreases as TK is approached. The conclusion is drawn that the current theoretical treatments do not contain all the essential contributions, because the many-particle-intermediate states are neglected in the calculation of the scattering amplitude.
