The temperature dependence of coercive properties of magnetic garnets and amorphous ribbons is reviewed on the basis of our experiments and of data taken from the literature. The temperature dependence of the anisotropy field was also investigated. It was shown that - independently on the actual sample - the temperature dependence of the coercivity in the investigated materials is predominantly determined by the temperature dependence of their anisotropy field and only modified by the defects shape and distribution.
