Abstract

Using the laser spectroscopic method, the study of decay rates of antiprotonic helium states was carried out. The magnitude of decay rates, their relation with the transition multipolarity was compared with the theoretical calculations. The decay rates of some of its short-lived states for which the Auger rates were much larger than their radiative decay rates were also determined. A sharp peak was observed in the delayed annihilation time spectrum, the intensity of which was proportional to the number of antiproton annihilation induced by the laser pulse.
