Abstract
The 56 amino acid containing GnRH‐associated peptide (GAP) may be prepared by a combination of fragment condensation and solid‐phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). The solution‐phase synthesis of the fragments 1–9 is described. Furthermore, we report on the selective cleavage of benzyl esters by catalytic hydrogenation in the presence of the 9‐fluorenylmethyloxycarbonyl (Fmoc) protecting group. The C‐terminal 15 amino acid containing fragment of GAP (10) was synthesized by SPPS.
