Synthesis of 5-aryl-1-carboxyphenyl-3-(3-coumarinyl)-2-pyrazolines

Abstract

1-(2-Carboxyphenyl)- and 1-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2-pyrazolines have been synthesized by treatment of appropriate 3-aryl-1-(3-coumarinyl)propen-1-ones with (2-carboxyphenyl)hydrazine and (4-carboxyphenyl)hydrazine in hot acetic acid. The structures of all new 2-pyrazolines have been elucidated by microanalyses, IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR- spectroscopic measurements.
