The compounds TlPbI//3, Tl//3PbI//5, TlSnI//3, TlSn//2I//5 and Tl//3PbBr//5 have been synthesized by alloying the required quantities of previously purified binary halides single crystals of good quality with a length of 10 to 25 mm and a diameter of 5 to 15 mm have been grown by the Bridgman-Stockbarger method. The temperature dependence of the electric conductivity of these single crystals is investigated, and the magnitude and spectral distribution of the photosensitivity of the crystals are determined. On the basis of the absorption spectra obtained, an estimate is made of the optical width of the forbidden band.
