Abstract

p-Nitrophenyl glycosides of 3-O-Me-β-D-Glcp-(1 → 3)-α-L-Rhap, α-L-Rhap-(1 → 2)-6-deoxy-α-L-Talp, and 3-O-Me-β-D-Glcp-(1 → 3)-α-L-Rhap-(1 → 2)-6-deoxy-α-L-Talp have been prepared, related to Mycobacterium avium. Various glycosylation methods have been used for the formation of the interglycosidic linkages. The p-nitrophenyl derivatives were converted into p-isothiocyanatophenyl glycosides, capable of forming neoglycoproteins.
