Abstract

OBJECTIVES:: Hemoglobin A1c levels less than 7.0% and systolic blood pressure (SBP) less than 140?mmHg are each associated with lower risk of vascular complications in patients with diabetes mellitus. Associations between combined A1c level and SBP categories and risk of mortality and morbidity in diabetic patients are not well characterized.
