SUPPORTING EFFECT OF THE FABRIC OF TENT STRUCTURES STRETCHED ONTO AN ARCH ROW ON THE LATERAL STABILITY OF THE ARCHES.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The arches of prestressed tent structures are laterally restrained against buckling by the fabric. The paper presents a method by which, in the case of tent structures stretched onto arch rows, this restraining effect can be simply computed. With knowledge of these data the lateral stability analysis of the arches can be performed by the usual methods.
