Abstract

Atopic transplants of the embryonic rat larynx, trachea, and oesophagus incorporated 3H tyrosine selectively and in a similar degree to like transplants of the thyroid. In addition to similar observations with radioiodine, these findings support the conclusion that primordial endocrinic potencies are retained, and can be activated, in a broader range of foregut derivatives than is implied by the actual functional manifestations.
