29Si,27AI, 23Na MAS NMR investigations of na-mordenite dealuminated with phosgene

Abstract

NaM-MOR samples were dealuminated with phosgene at various temperatures between 773 and 1043 K. The 29Si-NMR spectra show unambigously the progressive dealumination and the formation of SiOH and Si(OH), defect groups. Combined chemical analysis, 27A1-NMR and 29Si-NMR data allowed us to compute the amount of SiOH groups per extracted tetrahedral Al atom. The value is rather small (1.3) and shows the framework reconstruction during dealumination. The 23Na-NMR spectra of the dealuminated samples are composed at least of five different species.
