Sudden mass changes of a quantum oscillator and squeezing

Abstract

It is shown that a high degree of squeezing can be achieved by a series of sudden mass changes of a quantum oscillator. A strong dependence of the squeezing on the time interval between the mass jumps from M1 to M2 and back is found.
