Abstract

1,2-Diaryl-substituted imidazolidines proved to be ring-chain tautomeric mixtures in CDCl3 at 300 K. Both 1- and 2-aryl groups exerted significant electronic effect on the tautomeric equilibria, which could be described by the equation log K(x) = ρσ+ + log K(X=H).
