Abstract

The in vivo masked and in vitro unmasked rheumatoid factors of IgM type have been studied in the serum of 64 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 7 with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, 12 patients with arthrosis and spondylosis and 15 with other diseases. As a consequence of the treatment performed with a dialysis on pH 3.9, significant rise of the RF(IgM) titer has been observed in about half of the adult and juvenile patients. In RA the incidence of hidden RF can be associated with the diagnostic group of rheumatoid vasculitis.
