Abstract

The authors investigated the composition and quantity of essential oils obtained by steam distillation from the inflorescence and leaves of Cannabis sativa L. var. Mexico grown under Hungarian conditions. It was found that the essential oils contain besides terpene derivatives also cannabinoids. In the essential oil there were identified the following sesquiterpenes: α-bergamotene, β-caryophyllene, trans-β- and α-farnesene isomers, α-humulene, γ-elemene, α-gurjunene, β-bisabolene, β-caryophyllene-epoxide and α-bisbolol.
