Study on influence of citric acid on albendazole complexation with random methylated-beta-cyclodextrin

Abstract

Continuing our previous researches regarding the possibility of improving the aqueous solubility of albendazole, the combined effect of random methyl-β-cyclodextrin and citric acid was studied. Ternary complexes of these components in two molar ratio were prepared using usual laboratory methods and the solubility profiles of the complexes were studied in simulated gastric/intestinal medium. The interaction in solid state between the components of the ternary systems was proved by thermal analysis.
