Abstract

The aim of this present investigation is (1) to determine the half time and total time of the adsorption/desorption process, (2) to determine the effect of (a) the structure of a given solid (both chemical and physical), (b) the nature of the liquid, (c) in case of solutions the concentration, (d) the solid/liquid ratio, and (e) the temperature on the half time. The solids under investigation are porous and nonporous silicas. The liquids used are benzene, heptane and ethanol.
