Abstract

The phase structure of polypropylene (PP) blends impact modified by thermoplastic elastomers on styrene-butadiene basis as well as the particle size of the impact modifier fundamentally affect the mechanical properties, particularly the toughness of the corresponding PP blends. The tensile and impact properties such as modulus, yield point, ultimate tensile strength, elongation at break as well as tensile impact and notched impact strength are studied and discussed as a function of temperature and impact modifier concentration. For figures see German text.
