Structure elucidation of tetrazolo[5,1-c]benzo-as-triazine. An interesting ternary equilibrium of tetrazole-azide systems

Abstract

The title equilibrium has been studied by UV, MS, and NMR. The originally proposed angular structure tetrazolo[5,1-c]benzo-as-triazine (3) is the major component both in solution and in the solid state. By means of 13C NMR spectroscopy, an interesting ternary equilibrium was detected in Me2SO which involves 3 as the main component (64%), in addition to 2 (25%) and 4 present in smaller amounts (10%).
