Abstract

In this paper we described in details the definition of a platform independent electro-thermal simulation package based on the method of simultaneous iteration. The implementation of such a system has been started with the developed by us a software package, SISSI (Simulator for Integrated Structures by Simultaneous Iteration). The original version of this package was bound to a particular design kit of an industry standard IC design framework. In order to provide high level of flexibility and versatility, a framework and design kit (technology) independent realisation of the original SISSI system is required as well as a modular approach. We discuss in details, what tools and methods are required in order to implement a platform independent electro-thermal simulator.
