Abstract

With the help of the mixed keratinocyte-lymphocyte reaction in vitro, in the presence of interleukin 2, we measured a marked response of autologous T-lymphocytes after stimulation by lesional epidermal cells in 3 patients suffering from lichen planus (LP). These findings throw some new light on both the pathogenesis of LP and the interactions between epidermal cells and T-lymphocytes, which might also be relevant in vivo.
