Star formation in the Taurus molecular ring

Abstract

Ongoing star formation was found by locating 677 YSO candidates distributed in all parts of the Taurus molecular ring. A correlation was found between the YSO number density and 200 μm surface brightness. The YSOs are clustered at the edges of the dense clouds of the molecular ring.
