Abstract

We examine a Yukawa-type interaction of the baryon and meson octets looking for a non-symmetrical solution of the Dyson-Schwinger equations for the Green functions. The baryon masses are calculated in the framework of the model. The Σ and Λ masses turn out to be different, and our model accounts for the octet enhancement. To fix the numerical values we used the experimental value of the nucleon - pion interaction coupling constant, the average mass of baryons and one more masslike parameter. A good agreement with known baryon masses is obtained.
