Spin-precessor intended for microstructure investigations at ultrasmall-angle neutron spectrometer

In spin-echo neutron small-angle spectrometry the correlation length of microstructures lc = 103-105 Å is measured by Larmor precession encoding of the scattering angle 10 -2-1 mrad. The neutron spin-precessor based on two current sheets of thin wires has been investigated. The current sheets with the applied external magnetic field 10 Oe and the distance between them 0.6 m have been inclined under some angle to the neutron beam. The precession phase derivative for neutron wavelength 8 Å is dφ/dQ = 2 × 103 rad Å. It allows to measure the value up to lc ≈ 104 Å.
