Spectroscopic investigation of some ion derivatives of pyrazine and pyridazone in aqueous solutions

Abstract

The pH dependence of both electronic and infrared spectra has been investigated. From the electronic spectra pKa values have been calculated. These values have been correlated with ionization constants calculated from CNDO/2 binding energies. A significant correlation has been obtained. The infrared spectra produce information about the solute-solvent interactions.
