Skeletal isomerization of butene over natural ferrierite

Abstract

The conversion of butenes to isobutene was compared on chemically modified natural and synthetic H-ferrierite catalysts. The proper balance of extra-framework species together with properly chosen reaction conditions allowed 100% isobutene selectivity.
