Polymethacrylic acid causes the lymphocytes stored in lymph organs and tissues to enter the blood and thereby increases the amount of lymphocytes in the blood and the thoracic duct lymph of the rat. It does not alter the volume of the lymphocytes flowing out through the thoracic duct fistula. Ninety per cent of the cells are small lymphocytes. Since the polymethacrylic acid exerts its effect mostly on small lymphocytes it seems probable that it also promotes immune reactivity.
