Abstract
The authors evaluate the results of liquor examinations on the basis of literature data and their own experiences. They analyse native discoloration, and change in colour after centrifugation, and the importance of disturbance. From the results of cytological examination they consider that the number and quality of white blood cells are the most important from diagnostic point of view. They deal with changes of liquor in case of tumours of central nervous system, and present in details the causes of change in protein content. From the other components, they discuss the quantitative changes of macroelements and glucose and activity of certain enzymes.
