Sidisterone, a C24 ecdysteroid from Silene dioica and Silene otites

Sidisterone (1), the first C24 ecdysteroid, has been isolated from two species of the Caryophyllaceae in the genus Silene (S. dioica and S. otites) and identified through 1H-, 13C-, and multidimensional NMR and molecular modeling techniques.
