Shape isomers and cluster structure

Abstract

We discuss how shape-isomers can be determined from the quasi-dynamical SU(3) symmetry based on the Nilsson-model. The possible clusterization of superdeformed and hyperdeformed states are also investigated. The allowed cluster-configurations give a hint, for the favourable reaction channels for populating these states. An illustrative example is presented, in which the theoretical prediction is justified by the experimental observation.
