Semistrong coupling in the Higgs model

Abstract

The semistrong coupling limit of the Higgs model is defined. The existence of approximate curved flux-tube solutions is exhibited, also in the theory with "magnetic" monopoles. The quantization of the small oscillations of the infinitely long, straight vortex is investigated. Its quantum-mechanical stability is discussed.
