Abstract

A near-surface low-velocity zone in metavolcanic, metasedimentary and plutonic rocks of the Flin Flon region, on the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border at around 54o-45'N, is caused by a high frequency of open fractures. Seismic reflection techniques can be adapted for mapping in Precambrian terrain.-R.A.H.
