Abstract

Some 217 phytoplankton taxa were found, including 57 new for the Vistula. The water discharge and rapid floods exert a considerable effect on the quantitative composition of phytoplankton above the reservoir. During floods the numbers of tichoplanktonic algae (mainly periphytic diatoms) increased. In periods of low water euplanktonic species dominated. -from Authors
