REVIEW OF THE APPLICATION OF THE RENORMALIZATION GROUP METHOD TO LOGARITHMIC PROBLEMS.

Abstract

The applicability of the renormalization group method to typical logarithmic problems such as X-ray absorption, the Kondo effect and one-dimensional superconductivity is discussed. It is concluded that if the problem scales into a strong coupling regime, then the orthodox version of the renormalization group method does not distinquish between strong but finite coupling and infinitely strong coupling.
