Abstract

With the help of combined IR and MAS NMR data a mechanism is proposed for the surface reaction of CCI4 with faujasites. The first intermediate COCI2 is detected by both the Fermi resonance in IR and 13C-NMR. The appearence of the final product COj is accompanied by a rather high dealumination. Thé experimental data all support the proposed mechanism.
