Abstract

The energy spectrum and angular distribution of alpha particles from the reaction N14(n, α) B11 measured at En=14,7 MeV with a loud chamber are well described by the statistical model. A nuclear temperature of 2,0±0,1 MeV has been deduced. The cross-sections for the reactions N14(n, p) C14 and N14(n, np) C13 are 77±14 and 46±13 mb, respectively. The measured cross-section ratio for the emission of protons and alpha particles and the ratio calculated with the statistical model are in good agreement.
