Abstract

The authors report a xanthine stone removed from the bladder of a three and a half year old boy. They discuss the characteristics of paediatric urolithiasis with particular reference to the xanthine stones. They emphasize the importance of stone analysis in the differentiation of the xanthine and uric acid stones, the appearance of which are similar.
