Radiotracer study of the adsorption of ethylenediamine at a platinized platinum electrodes

Abstract

The adsorption of ethylenediamine was studied by radiotracer method in acid (1 mol dm-3 H2SO4) and alkaline (0.1 mol dm-3 NaOH) media. Strong chemisorption occurs in both media; however, there is a significant difference in the nature of the chemisorbed species formed in different media. The potential dependence of the adsorption in acid medium can be explained by occurrence of oxidative adsorption and reductive desorption steps.
