Abstract

The authors overview the application of results from recent infant research on psychoanalytic theory of therapy and psychodynamic psychiatry in general. They deal with issues such as reconstructing the past, transference and relationship. The paper introduces the flash technique as described by Michael and Enid Bálint in the light of Stern's theory on the Senses of the Self. The authors demonstrate their view with the integration of case reports.
