Abstract
The main results concerning a study of liquid phase oxidation processes are summarized. The aim of the investigations has been to approach the adequate mechanism of the reaction and as model-system the oxidation of ethylbenzene has been chosen. The problems under investigation are the following: the mathematical treatment of the overall reaction; the sequence study of intermediate formation during the reaction; the modelling of pathways in the reaction and the homogeneous catalysis of the oxidation. Results indicate that the ″modelling″ described in the paper may help to achieve a better understanding of the mechanism of kinetics of the complex process.
