In a 49-year-old woman a intrahepatic lesion sharply outlined in the II. and III. hepatic segments was found, following examination because of permanent burning pain in the right upper abdominal quadrant. Using histology and immunohistochemistry, a pleomorphic liposarcoma was diagnosed. No metastatic disease was present and the patient did well for 12 months after surgery with no evidence of recurrence. Therapeutic procedures comprise radical surgery, as well as radiochemotherapy. In accordance with another case report our experience substantiates radical surgery as decisive procedure for long term prognosis.
